The armchair astronaut is a video produced for Shandyweather, the solo persona of Richard Payne - formerly of Dodgey and Bluetones fame.

By combining very simple animation with richly coloured backgrounds I have produced a video with a dreamy style that suits the music.

Effort was made to fit the storyboard with the progression of the music to give the piece a sense of structure. Being an instrumental piece, I felt the video should have characters and a plot to give it a focus. The twist at the end helps round off the piece, given the slow wind down of the music.
